It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Chris Potts.

He eventually lost his brave battle against cancer last night surrounded by loving family members.

A 34-year member of OGRI MCC, he leaves us with our memories and laughter, and the world will be a quieter place without him.

Our condolences go to Beate and the rest of his family.

It was an honour and privilege to know and ride with you.

Ride Free Brother and we will share a beer together somewhere in the future.

Details of the funeral will be forthcoming when we know more.

It’s with great sadness that we’ve heard of the passing of Russ Page
Russ was a familiar name and voice on the bike rally scene for many years. A DJ at countless events including NABD rallies, Farmyard, Into the Valley, and in more recent years OGRI rallies and parties, he helped provide the soundtrack to many great weekends.

An OGRI associate member and a well-known face around the rally field, Russ will be very greatly missed by many across the biker community.

It is with great sadness that we heard the sad news of the passing of Paul Sample, who died on 27 January 2026.

Paul was an honorary member of OGRI MCC, and without him we would not have the iconic OGRI patch we proudly wear today.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Paul’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Thank you, Paul. You will be deeply missed, but never forgotten, by all of us at OGRI MCC.

It is with great sadness that OGRI MCC can confirm, on behalf of his family, the sudden passing of Andrew Meredith at the weekend 26th March 2023.
We were all shocked and saddened by this unexpected event, and our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, colleagues and loved ones.

Andy followed me in joining OGRI MCC and soon became known as the Club Geek, sorting out the mish-mash of tech and bringing order to a system that had naturally evolved over the 45 years of the Club, racking up +20 years as a member doing the things he loved – motorbikes, camping, parties, chatting with folks from all walks of life and of course tech.

Over the years, we had many chats, covering a plethora of topics, sometimes heated, sometimes educational, and sometimes complete bollocks.
Our last chat at 4 am after a few beverages was about AI and whether Chat-GPT & Bard were good things or not. It’s a shame we never managed to finish it the next day.


It still doesn’t seem real but I think we gave you the send-off you deserved.

It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to deliver the news that our Brother Dave ‘Dog’ Vaughan passed away on Monday after being involved in an accident on his bike while returning home.

As you can imagine, the Club and family are devastated to lose such an amazing Brother, Father and Grandfather. The family have asked that they are left in peace to grieve, please respect this.

As and when funeral arrangements are made, I will post more information.

Uwe, one of our German brothers passed away on the 14th August 2017.

All German Ogri MCC members gave Uwe the respect he has earned and has attend the celebration. Lots of flowers and wreaths have decorated his grave and the priest gave a very solemn speech about his life and his love to biking and his Club Ogri MCC. His long time girlfriend and even his mother was very touched about the great condolence from his club.

It is with great sorrow that we have to inform you of the passing of Gail Walkerdine. She became ill and passed away on Monday morning.

Update [1st December 2009]: We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who joined us to say farewell to Gail on Friday 27th November. Many of you offered your time, and in some cases even your bikes, to help us give Gail the send off she deserved; and the sheer number that turned up to ride with us made it a truly humbling experience for all.

Once again thank you all for your help and support. There are far too many of you to name, but in particular, we would like to thank Paul, Sam and the rest of the marshals. Everybody commented on what a fantastic job they did keeping the run as smooth as silk.
