If you come to an OGRI MCC event, you’ve probably seen the donation buckets on the bar or have dropped some spare change in our Tea & Coffee Honesty pot.
These donations are all part the OGRI “Jax’s Army” campaign to fundraise for Jax, the son of one of our Full Colour members.
Meet Jackson

Jackson is a brave and complex little boy living with an undiagnosed medical condition. Every night, he receives all of his nutrition and fluids through a central line that goes directly into his bloodstream due to intestinal failure. He also requires oxygen 24 hours a day because of a condition called autonomic dysfunction/dysautonomnia. This means his body can “forget” to breathe without warning, and he often needs emergency support to help him breathe again. It also affects his blood pressure and heart rate. In addition, Jackson has severe sensory processing disorder, autism (ASD), a profound learning disability, and is non-speaking.
But despite it all, Jackson is the happiest, cheekiest little lad you could ever meet. His smile lights up a room. He is incredibly strong, fighting and surviving more than many adults ever have to. As a family, all we want is to give him the best life possible—and this is where you come in.
Jackson is classed as a SWAN—a child with a Syndrome Without A Name. Because his condition is undiagnosed, he doesn’t have a designated charity to turn to for financial support.
That’s why the money you raise makes such a huge difference. Your donations help us afford the things the NHS doesn’t provide, such as:
- His all-terrain wheelchair, so we can explore the countryside and go to the beach.
- A travel safe space bed, allowing us to take holidays together.
- Sensory towers (at school and home) to help him regulate when overwhelmed.
- A deep pressure vest, so we can go out even when the NHS-provided one is being washed or repaired.
- Bluetooth headphones, to help him cope with the outside world.
- Specialised clothing that allows access to his medical lines and tubing while preserving his dignity—especially when we’re out and about….and the list goes on.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, Jackson is not just surviving—he’s thriving.
Your support has helped make his already difficult life that bit easier and allowed him to experience the joy, freedom, and fun every child deserves.
So from the bottom of our hearts—THANK YOU. You can follow Jackson’s journey on Facebook:
